Long ago the Lord said to Israel:
“I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love.
With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself. Jeremiah 31:3
I am posed with a challenge.
My daily, unsettled life sends to me a challenge.
The tragedies, the seemingly unfair tragedies, present to me a challenge.
The national unrest creates for me a challenge.
The “falling away of the saints” raises to me challenge.
The domestic and international terrorists events present to me a challenge.
The challenge is not to rise above the circumstances. The challenge is not to overcome. The challenge is not to herald the events and become a hero.
But, the challenge is to continually remind myself and others that HE loves us.
The complexity of mankind shows how infinite our God is.
The ability to love and hate from the same individual. The wonder of anticipation to an eclipse, yet the horrid racial divide that exists among us. The joy of a newborn and yet the untimely death of the same. Blessings and “not blessings” at the same time.
Bitter and sweet. Hot and cold. Extremes that often cause us joy, turmoil and pain all at the same time.
The struggle of finding stability in it all. How can we form such hatred toward one thing, yet have the capacity to love as well?
Yes, typical answers, bitter and sweet cannot come out of the same fountain. And it should not. But it does, and herein lies the struggle.
God, how do we deal with the capacity we have of loving and hating all at the same time?
HE has tractor girl on this journey of The Vision and the words of late have been, “Let ME teach you.”
Thinking as Job, but I thought I already knew you?
But, the words resound ever more loudly, “Let ME teach you.”
And the lesson today?
HE LOVES US
Yea, I know we think we know this. But Paul admonished the folk at Ephesus by saying:
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.” Ephesians 3:18
The power to understand how deep his love is. And we don’t understand.
Maybe that’s why the chaos is so evident. Maybe the focus should not be on trying to right everything that is wrong. Maybe the focus should be on The ONE who still loves us all, equally, today as HE did when we were in our mother’s womb.
HE LOVES US
Good or bad.
Hot or cold.
Gay or straight.
Black, white, brown, yellow, green, red.
Alt-right or Alt-left.
Saved or not.
All extremes and everything in between
HE LOVES US
And that’s the beauty and wonder of it all. That’s the awesome revelation. That the God who created good and evil looks upon us all, still loves us all unconditionally.
This is the message that saves the world, that brings light into dark areas. That YHWH loves us. And there is absolutely nothing that can be done to separate us from HIS love. Not suffering, or affliction, or tribulation, or calamity, or distress, or persecution, or hunger, or destitution, or peril, or sword.
HE LOVES US with an everlasting love.
HE LOVES US beyond all of our instability and wantonness.
HE LOVES US beyond the extremes that exist within us and among us.
HE LOVES US unconditionally, and without end.
THAT love is enough to lift us above the chaos that’s around us and within us.
In spite of my state, HE LOVES ME!!!!!!
So, the challenge? To constantly remind myself and others that God Loves US!!!!!
May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:19
